Greenstreet Builders, Inc., J.T. Lewis Builders Inc., and Keith Dixon Building Company formed a unique partnership, Corner Stone Builders, with the idea to build a home as a way to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. They also wanted to raise awareness about the need for safe, decent, affordable housing in our community.
Together, they constructed the neo-traditional Georgian home that now sits at the corner of Faison Road and Faulkner Drive in Meadowmont and sold it on the open market, then donated the proceeds to Habitat for Humanity of Orange County.
Habitat for Humanity of Orange County is a nonprofit, affordable housing builder that partners with members of the community and with working families in need. Habitat offers families who earn 50 percent or less of the area's median income the opportunity to buy a simple, well-constructed home. Once the home is complete, families buy the home from Habitat. The homes are sold at no profit and habitat provides a no-interest mortgage. Payments on these mortgages are "recycled" to build more homes.
